Visit Draigfrin

Within the Caldera

Sheltered within the walls of an ancient volcanic caldera, Draigfrin is home to the dragonbonded of Cyfina. The city stretches from its busy harbor toward the slopes of the old volcano, with Llys Draig rising above its streets.

Beyond the city, open meadows and winding paths lead toward places where dragons train, gather, and take to the air—and where traditions nearly as old as Draigfrin itself are still observed.

Places of Draigfrin

The Llys Draig. At the heart of Draigfrin stands the Llys Draig, home to the First Speaker and Council and the center of life for Cyfina’s dragonbonded. Within its walls are the council chambers, living quarters, and the hatchery where dragon eggs are tended by the Keeper.

The Hatchery. Deep within the Llys Draig lies the hatchery, where dragon eggs are kept under the watchful care of the Keeper. Warm, protected, and carefully tended, it has served generations of Draigfrin’s dragonbonded.

The Meadows. Beyond the Llys Draig, broad meadows stretch across the upper reaches of the caldera. Here the dragons have room to gather, train, and take to the air, while riders practice the skills of flying and working alongside their bonded dragons

The Harbor. Draigfrin’s harbor lies at the eastern edge of the caldera, where the city opens onto the sea. Ships arriving from elsewhere in Cyfina dock here, bringing travelers and goods into the city. From the waterfront, the streets climb gradually toward the Llys Draig and the higher ground beyond.

The Market. Along Draigfrin’s broad central street, the market is a busy gathering place for merchants, craftspeople, and residents of the city. Stalls and shops offer goods from Draigfrin and beyond, making it as much a place to meet and exchange news as it is to find what you need.

The Kitchens. The kitchens of the Llys Draig are rarely quiet. Cook presides over a bustling staff preparing meals for the castle’s residents and guests, while the warm, busy rooms have also become a favorite gathering place for those who find their way belowstairs.

The Bookshop. Tucked among the shops along Draigfrin’s central street, the bookshop is one of Anne’s favorite places in the city. Its shelves hold books gathered from across Cyfina, and Anne has become a familiar visitor to its proprietor.
